Young Writers Workshop · Ages 9–13

Some kids come back from the holidays with a tan.
Yours comes back with a book.

In two weeks, your child writes their own story, and it's published in a real anthology,

on Amazon, with their name on the cover.

Taught by Jele Oseaga-Ikuenobe - 4 published books · TEDx speaker · age 14

THE PART EVERY PARENTS KNOWS

The holiday always starts the same way. And ends the same way too.

Most holiday activities keep a child busy, then evaporate. The football camp ends. The slime dries up. The certificate goes in a drawer nobody opens again. We wanted to build the opposite of that, something a child keeps.

AND THEN THERE'S THE DEEPER THING

Think about the last book your child read.

The hero, what did they look like? Where did the story happen? A cottage in the snow? A village with a name they can't pronounce? Our children read book after book after book in which nobody eats what they eat, speaks how they speak, or lives where they live.

They grow up loving stories that never once looked back at them.

That's the problem Jele set out to fix at ten years old, not by complaining about it, but by writing the books himself. Now he's teaching your child to do the same.

AND THEN THERE'S THE DEEPER THING

Two weeks. One real story.
Their name in a real book.

Four live sessions. Personal feedback throughout. Your child writes a short story set in their world, about a character who finally looks like them. And at the end, it doesn't go in a drawer.

Those are two completely different sentences. One of them changes how a child sees themselves.

MEET THE TEACHER

A teenager is teaching my child? Yes. That's the whole point.

Jele Oseaga-Ikuenobe

Author · TEDx speaker · Founder, Mirroring Our World

  • Started writing stories:

Before most kids finish their first chapter book.

  • Created his own book series:

The Adventures of Koko and Jake.

  • Published his first book:

Foreword written by Professor Yemi Osinbajo, then Vice President of Nigeria, who read the manuscript personally.

  • Delivered a TEDx talk:

On why African children deserve to see themselves in what they read.

  • Four books in. Fifth on the way:

One of the youngest African students ever admitted to Astra Nova. And now, teaching your child.

WHAT YOUR CHILD WALKS AWAY WITH

Everything they need. And one thing they keep forever.

  • 4 live writing sessions

On Zoom, taught by a real published author. Not a recording. Not a chatbot.

  • Personal email feedback

Real notes on their actual story throughout. Not “great job!”, real mentorship.

  • Published on Amazon

Their story in a real anthology, worldwide, permanently, with their name as author.

  • A printed copy, mailed home

Something they can hold, show, and keep. The proudest object in the house.

  • Their story, their world

An African child writing an African story, representation they made themselves.

  • Optional: a private 1-on-1

Direct, individual mentorship from Jele. Limited slots, first come first served.

This isn't for every child. Here's who it's for.

It's for your child if…

  • They love stories, reading them, telling them, and living inside them.

  • They've got big imaginations and nowhere to put them.

  • They need a confidence boost and something to be truly proud of.

  • You want their holiday to count for something real.

It's honestly not for you if…

  • You want cheap babysitting for a few hours. This asks something of your child, that's the point.

  • Your child is younger than 9 or older than 14. The magic depends on the age range, and we hold that line

  • You want a certificate for the wall. We don't do certificates. We do books.

Questions parents ask

Is my child a good enough writer for this?

Comparable international children's writing programmes run into the thousands,

and most still won't put your child's name on a real book at the end.

How does your product work?

Sessions are recorded and shared privately with anyone who was away, so nobody falls behind.

A 14-year-old is really the teacher?

Yes, and he built the curriculum himself, with more publishing experience than most adults. Every bit of admin (payments, tech, your questions) is handled by his adult team. Jele teaches. Grown-ups run the rest. You're always talking to an adult.

Is it actually published on Amazon, or a PDF you're calling a book?

Yes, a real Amazon listing, Kindle and paperback, searchable worldwide, that you can pull up on any phone for years. There's a free PDF too so under-resourced schools can read it, but your child's credit is the real, permanent thing.

Who owns my child's story?

Your child. Always. Full copyright stays with them; you just grant permission to include it in this one anthology. It's the standard way every anthology on earth works.

THE REAL REASON TO SAY YES

A child, holding a real book, seeing their own name.

Strip away the Amazon listing, the sessions, the printed copy. What's really on offer is one moment,

The moment a child stops being someone who reads stories and becomes someone who makes them.
